How we use AI
We use AI tools to help make our guides. This page says what the tools do and what people do.
What AI does
- It suggests topics, based on what people search for.
- It gathers claims from our list of trusted sources.
- It writes a first draft from those claims.
- It checks each sentence of the draft against its source.
What people do
- A qualified medical reviewer reads each guide and its sources. The reviewer approves it, or sends it back.
- Our editor chooses the topics and makes the final decision to publish.
No guide goes live without a named reviewer’s approval. The guide shows the reviewer’s name and the review date.
Our limits on AI
- AI may only use facts from the sources we cite.
- AI never writes in the voice of a person, and never claims personal experience.
- AI never writes our reviewer credits. Those come from our records.
Images
Most of our images are stock photos or diagrams we build from the cited data. If we use an AI-generated image, it never shows a realistic person presented as real.
